What data Yaware can collect—and how it is controlled

The actual data set depends on the features a customer enables. We describe optional categories plainly so organizations can make informed configuration decisions.

Data categories depend on configuration

Work time and application activity

Depending on configuration, Yaware can record work-session timing and the applications or websites used on covered devices.

Screenshots

Screenshots can be enabled at a configured frequency. The customer decides whether to use them, who has access, and how long they are retained.

Webcam images

This optional feature requires a deliberate customer decision, transparent employee notice, and an appropriate legal basis.

Location data

Availability and precision depend on the device, operating system, and permissions. Collection should be limited to a defined business purpose.

Offline activities

Employees or managers can add configured categories such as meetings, calls, travel, or breaks to complete the workday context.

Software-risk metadata

Planned reports may analyze software name, version, publisher, signature, launch events, usage duration, and agent health—not the contents of files, messages, or AI prompts.

Customer responsibilities and controls

  • Enable only features that are necessary for a defined purpose.
  • Inform employees clearly before monitoring begins.
  • Use role-based access and review access regularly.
  • Set appropriate retention periods and respond to data-subject requests.
  • Confirm the legal basis and local requirements with qualified counsel.

Important distinction

Software-risk reporting and core time-tracking features have different purposes. The presence of screenshot or webcam functionality in an account does not mean those images are analyzed to generate software-risk reports. For binding terms, see the current Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
